Toughened Glass
Laminated Glass

There are two types of safety glass available: Toughened Glass & Laminated Glass. Both of these are Grade A safety glass and comply with all current NZ safety regulations.

Toughened glass is 5 times stronger than annealed glass and can withold temperature of up to 300 C. Toughened Glass is used in many instances where holes, cut-outs and unframed edges are being used e.g. showers, table tops etc. Laminated Glass is manufactured by adhering two panes of glass togheter with a PVB interlayer.

The plastic properties of the interlayer in the laminate act as a sound barrier and can provide sound control equivalent to that of ordinary glass of twice the thickness. Tinted laminate can also be used to reduce heat transmitted from either side of the glass. Laminated Glass is normally used in windows and doors.
